Head Housekeeper:

We are seeking a Head Housekeeper to fulfill a seven -month contract from early April until late October.

Demonstrated housekeeping and supervisory/management experience is necessary. This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours per week. Applicants should be in good physical condition as duties are moderately physically demanding, involving walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting. The early season training period will include spring-cleaning our rooms.

Responsibilities include staff training, scheduling, assigning duties, conflict resolution, tracking inventory and ordering supplies, and otherwise working closely with senior management in all aspects of supervision and management of the housekeeping department, including assisting with hiring.

Daily routine duties include stripping used linens from checkout rooms, checking completed rooms for cleanliness and conformation to standards and assisting housekeepers as needed with their duties. Assistance with all aspects of room-cleaning is sometimes required and participation in our in-house laundry and our recycling program is expected. Light outdoor work including raking, picking up litter and weeding gardens are occasional fill-in tasks.
